South Royalton boys’ varsity soccer seniors Connor Lambert, Chris McCullough, and Ryan Jones bring talent to this year’s team. The Royals played Mid-Vermont Christian School on Wednesday, Sept. 20 winning 4-0.

The team, so far, is well rounded with multiple players that contribute to the team.

Senior Ladies

South Royalton girls’ varsity soccer seniors, Iris Hudson, Sierra Salls and Grace Pease lead this year’s team into the fall season, starting with a close game against Chelsea, losing 1-0.

Tucker Chapin, one of Chelsea’s seniors, sealed the win against SoRo with a direct kick mid-way through the second half from about 25 yards out. Royals’ Coach Jackson Howe recognized South Royalton freshman, Lilly Hudson, for “playing a great game in the goal for us, making many saves.” He said that it was a great learning experience for his young team.

I. Hudson brings incredible footwork skills and a smiling attitude to the team. She is a strong leader and a caption of the Lady Royals.

Salls brings a gritty and aggressive style of play which is beneficial for the defensive side of the team. She is very knowledgeable about the defensive end of the game.

Pease brings to the team great work ethic every day. She is working her way up to the starting lineup and really demonstrates control and style on the defense side.

The soccer games and cross country meet that were scheduled for Monday, Sept. 25 were all canceled due to the extreme heat.
