Braintree 357 To Host Gravel Cycling’s Newest Race Format

On October 7, gravel cyclists, both pro and recreational, will eagerly await the start of this unique, new Gravel Enduro. Race director and founder Zac Freeman has created this new format by flipping the wildly popular mtb enduro format into timed uphill race segments that are poised to challenge even the best.

The Braintree 357 Gravel Enduro offers three distance options to appeal to a wide range of cyclists. You can choose to simply ride at your own pace or choose to race for a coveted King of The Mountain award!

Category winners will receive a custom bag stuffed with amazing prizes. Each distance option is a test of mental grit and physical stamina regardless of ability, and will take your breath away with spectacular sweeping vistas throughout the routes.

The Braintree 3 - 18mi / 2700’; The Braintree 5 - 35mi / 5000’; The Braintree 7 - 50mi / 8000’.

“The race follows a super-fast downhill rip, then a u-turn and back up the hill you just descended. This is more fun than it sounds, because you always get to check where the leaders are and you always see the climb you’re about to face, so you can prepare mentally for the steep or the shallow sections.” – Trio Canada

Post-race (and ride) participants will be treated to tasty local food, exclusive Braintree 357 Gravel Ale by Bent Hill Brewery, and live music. The Braintree 357 is followed by our partner event, the Central Vermont Brew Fest, featuring more than 60 beers and cider, music, and local food and art vendors. Located at the picturesque Ayers Brook Goat Dairy among beautiful, rolling hills and lush, green pastures during the heart of fall foliage season, this special combination of events provides a unique experience in a stunning, rural Vermont setting.

“We are very excited about the direction of this event. I am proud to be hosting this in my hometown, supporting local businesses, and showcasing Randolph/Braintree’s expanding recreational opportunities” said Freeman.
