Windsor Co. Democrats Schedule Roundtable on Health Care Bills

A public roundtable discussion on national, state and universal primary care will be held at Damon Hall, Hartland Three Corners, on Monday, Sept. 11 at 7 p.m., sponsored by the Windsor County Democratic Committee.

Panel members will include Kevin Veller who is the health care analyst for U.S. Rep. Peter Welch. Also speaking will be State Sen. Alison Clarkson, State Rep. Annmarie Christensen of the Vt. House Health Care Committee, and Dr. Deb Richter, a primary care doctor who is president of VT Health Care For All.

According to William Kuch, the county Democratic chair, the discussion will provide insight into the ups and downs of the national picture as it stands in September 2017, as well as information on discussions in the Vermont legislature.

In addition, a thorough discussion of the proposal to provide public financing for a universal primary care system in Vermont will be made by Dr. Richter.

Dr. Richter was in the forefront of the movement to create a single payer system which fell short in December 2014.
