Vivian Moore – 763-7081

Yesterday’s beautiful drizzle gave us plenty of “inside time” to contemplate where the year has gone so fast. One quote I found made for some thinking: “Life is a tragedy for those who feel and a comedy for those who think.” Who would ever come up with such an idea? It is scary to say the least, but maybe they watched the evening news?

Fall is here and with it the annual “Woodbee” at Lois Moore’s woodshed. About 19 family members appeared Saturday for the gathering and bountiful table that Lois always manages to produce. Young and old alike had a wonderful time tossing wood into the shed for Gramma’s old woodstove to keep her busy the coming season.

On Sunday, Lois’ son, Tom, from Danville and daughter, Sally, from Barnard, appeared to share lunch. The crowd of Saturday nearly cleaned out the food, but Lois found enough!

Molly, the Rat Dog is on duty again. While the woodbee was underway, she was seen carrying a rat down from the garden—twice.

Don’t forget the “meet the pastor candidate” potluck supper at Ken and Nancy Wright’s home on September 9 at 5 p.m. Rev. Mark Pitton will present his offering candidate’s sermon for worship on Sunday, Sept 10. A congregational meeting will follow worship.
