The center at 6 Hale Street is open for the public Monday-Thursday from 9 a.m.-2 p.m., and serves lunch in the Fork and Spoon Café at noon.

Monday activities include cribbage at 10 a.m., bingo at 10:30 a.m., and contract bridge at Joslyn House at 2:15 p.m. “Lift for Life” exercise classes are Tuesday-Friday at 8:30 a.m. On Tuesdays, there is an eight-week Tai Chi class at 9:45 a.m., and mahjongg at 10 a.m. On the first Wednesday of each month, the book club meets at 12:45 p.m. There is a foot clinic the first Wednesday of the month by appointment. On Thursdays, the Knit-Wits meet at 10 a.m.—bring any needlework project. Call 728-9324 to confirm activities.

On Thursday, Sept. 7, the center will celebrate Grandparents Day, with a meal of baked fish, brown rice, stewed tomatoes, broccoli, whole wheat bread, and peaches.

On Monday, Sept. 11, the center will serve sausage gravy, mashed potatoes, broccoli, cornbread, and applesauce.

Lunch on Tuesday, Sept. 12 will be meatloaf with gravy, mashed potatoes, carrots, sliced tomatoes, whole wheat bread, and Jell-O cake with topping.

On Wednesday, Sept. 13, there will be a choice of chicken or dried beef gravy, mashed potatoes, California blend veggies, cornbread, and strawberries and cream.

On Thursday, Sept. 14, those with 90+ birthdays will be honored, and lunch will include mandarin orange pork roast with gravy, mashed potatoes, Brussels sprouts, whole wheat bread, and grasshopper pie.
