Calling hours for Levi F. Barnaby, 89, of Tunbridge, who died Sunday, July 30, 2017, were held Wednesday, Aug. 2 at the Boardway & Cilley Funeral Home in Chelsea.

A funeral service was held Thursday, Aug. 3 at 2 p.m. at the Tunbridge Congregational Church, with Pastor Tom Harty officiating. Pastor Harty began the service reciting the poem, “Instructions,” and reading scripture from the book of Ecclesiastes. Many family members and friends shared stories and remembrances, which included the Tunbridge Fair, playing bingo, building a bridge that has withstood many floods, and how much he loved his family. The service concluded with Pastor Harty reading the poem “A Giant Pine,” followed by the commendation and benediction.

The bearers were Michael S. Barnaby, Michael J. Barnaby, Cody Thurston, Jim Barnaby, Tim Barnaby, Jeff Wood, Larry Wood, and Danny Roberts. Immediately following the service, a time of fellowship and refreshments was hosted by the church hospitality committee at the Tunbridge Town Hall.

Memorial contributions may be made towards a plaque in Barnaby’s memory and will be given to the Free For All Horse Pull at the Tunbridge Fair, c/o Horse Pulling Dept., P. O. Box 193, Tunbridge, Vt. 05077.
