Vt. Arts Council Making Grants To Area Orgs

The Vermont Arts Council this week announced 71 grants totaling $438,408.

Awards were given in the categories of Cultural Facilities, Arts Impact, Arts Partnership, and Creation.

The projects funded through these grants are as varied as the state’s creative sector. For instance, a college will receive assistance in providing a physically accessible ramp, a choreographer will have support to create a new work, and a rural arts organization will offer ticket subsidies to make their programs available to all.

Orange County

In Orange County, the following organizations received grants:

Nicola Smith (Tunbridge) will receive a Creation Grant to support the creation of a theatrical piece that documents the stories of female veterans.

Friends of the Morrill Homestead, (Strafford) will receive a Cultural Facilities Grant to support the installation of an audio-visual system in the Strafford Town House.

Windsor County

In Windsor County, the following organizations received grants:

Seven Stars Arts Center, (Sharon) Arts Impact Grant to support the performance of the opera “The Telephone”.

Northern Stage Company, (White River Junction) Arts Partnership Grant to support operating and administrative costs;

Eric Wright, (South Pomfret) Creation Grant to support the creation of a duet album featuring traditional and original fiddle music with Mairi Rankin.
