The community bread/pizza oven at the Town Center now has a beautiful new hood that helps direct smoke up and out the chimney. Many thanks to Neil Hochstedler for his beautiful metal work, and for making this improvement happen.

If you haven’t done your berry picking yet, now is the time. Raspberries are still going strong, in one of the best raspberry years in memory, and blueberries are at their peak. There are even some amazing wild blueberry patches out there, so get out onto local hiking trails, and you may be pleasantly surprised by a wild sweet treat.

Civics Klatch continues to meet on Wednesday mornings at 7:30 a.m., for a lively intellectual discussion about the topic at hand. Library hours are Wednesdays at 10 a.m. for story time, Thursday afternoon from 2-5 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m.-1 p.m., which are also the hours for the Made-in-Vershire Shop.

The town clerk reminds everyone that their first tax payments are due on or before Thursday, Sept. 7.
