Sample Area Craft Brewers Aug. 12 at Brookfield OTH

The Brookfield Old Town Hall’s first annual Beer Fest is this Saturday, Aug. 12, beginning at 5 p.m. This event will feature three area craft brewers—Bent Hill Brewery, Halyard Brewing and Upper Pass Brewery—as well as a pizza, baked potatoes, and salad truck by the Three Bean Cafe, and music by the Lowell Thompson Band.

Tickets will be sold for six 3-ounce tastings, and beer by the pour, to be consumed on premises, and beer in bottles and cans, to be taken home, will be available for purchase. Other Events

The annual Helen Daly and Margaret Stone Ice Cream Social will take place Sunday, Aug. 13 from 2-4 p.m. at the Marvin Newton House. The historic home will be open for viewing, with this year’s theme of “Winters in Early Vermont.” Ice cream and cookies will be served and The Bear Mountain Jammers will perform music for all to enjoy.

The Monday morning AM Boot Camp continues on Monday, Aug. 14. The one-hour class begins at 7:30 a.m., with Emma Manion leading everyone through energizing “stations” of exercises, easily adapted to all levels of fitness. The AM Boot Camp exercise series is sponsored by The Clark Group, LLC, and there is no cost for the classes.

Join Deonne Myrick on Tuesday, Aug. 15 at 7 p.m. for all-levels yoga. Kids under 18 are free. The yoga series is co-sponsored by Nina Gaby and Craig Smith.

Mark your calendar for Thursday, Aug. 17 to listen to local storytellers tell their tails of growing up in Brookfield in the late 1940s, 50s and 60s. Beginning at 7 p.m., the storytellers will include Elinor Gray, Steve Hill, John Sprague, Mary Waldo, and Betty Phillips. Kit Gage will add to the stories while trying his best to keep the peace throughout what promises to be a lively evening of reminiscing and telling tales. Feel free to bring questions. This free event is sponsored by the Lake Sunapee Bank. Donations for the restoration and maintenance of the Old Town Hall will gladly be accepted.

On Sunday, Aug. 20 from 3-4 p.m., bring your kids to join the hip hop dance class with Shannon Kelly. Kids will learn a fun, happy, “exercentric” dance to Pharrell’s song “Happy!”

The Frankenburg Agency of Randolph serves as lead sponsor for the entire 2017 series of events at the Brookfield Old Town Hall.
