WINNING ENTRY |Mike Rood and Deb Melvin from Chelsea enjoyed taking part in the Old Home Day Parade with their 1949 Chevy 3100 pickup when South Royalton Fire & Rescue held its annual Old Home Days on green in South Royalton. Despite wet weather, everyone had a great time. The parade was held on Saturday morning, with Bushrod Powers as MC and parade judges Regina Cummings, Carol Keller, and Melissa Kumar. The South Royalton Fire Department led the parade of prize-winning entries. Winners were: best float: first prize, United Church of South Royalton, second prize, Royalton Recreation, and third prize, Heartland Lions Club; best antique autos: first prize, Mike Rood and Deb Melvin from Chelsea, and second prize, Neal Rand’s original 1929 Model A pickup; best liked entry: Blakeman’s Towing, Tunbridge.
