The Sharon Academy Opens

New Wing on Rt. 14 Campus

The Sharon Academy will officially open and dedicate a new wing at its Sharon campus Sunday, Jan. 28. Gov. Jim Douglas and other dignitaries will be on hand to cut the ribbon and honor those who made the construction project possible.

The addition is the third expansion of the school's new campus off Route 14 in Sharon. It will house a science laboratory, library, computer lab, art studio, classrooms and a unique, sunken floor "forum'' space for school gatherings, performances and community meetings.

The wing also continues the school's growing environmental commitment with radiant floor heating, specialized insulation, and south-facing windows. Earlier this year, the school mounted a solar energy system on its gymnasium roof to hold down energy costs.

The opening will take place at the school's Route 14 campus in Sharon from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. The governor will arrive at 3 p.m.

TSA is an independent day school serving students in grades 7-12.
