Vermont Tech Starts Classes

Vermont Technical College in Randolph Center observed the first day of classes Monday, with a record entering class of more thn 750 students.

The year got off to a brilliant start with a bright fireworks display Monday night.

For only the second year, women make up more than half of the totla VTC enrollment—some 53%, admissions officials said.

The school offers A. B. degrees in several engineering technology programs,and B. A. degrees in a smaller number of courses. Its main campus is in Randolph Center, but it has satellites, including a practical nursing programs, in a number of sites around the state.

Ty Handy will begin his second year as president.
